Items to Keep in Your Vehicle

Keeping the customer safe is one of our top priorities at Marquitz Buick Cadillac GMC, and we are dedicated to helping you have the safest and happiest holiday season. The National Safety Council has a few suggestions to make sure that you and your vehicle are ready for winter driving conditions.

Weather

Living in the Midwest can make for some very interesting weather patterns. Often people joke that if you don’t like the weather here then just wait a few minutes. Driving conditions can change just as quickly. One minute the road is clear, and the next minute there is pouring rain. In the winter that weather change can become dangerous, and it’s important to stay informed of what’s happening by monitoring weather patterns on TV, Radio, the Web, and the Weather Channel.

Your Car

Every vehicle should be checked out by one of our Goodwrench Service Technicians. A few great points to have checked on the vehicle are:

  • The Battery
  • Tire Pressure
  • Anti-Freeze Levels
  • Air, Fuel, and Emission Filters
  • Brakes, Hoses, Wiring, and Fan-Belts

Necessary Equipment

In an emergency situation you may need several items to help keep you safe. Should the need arise, here are our suggestions of the most basic items that you should have in the vehicle: Cell Phone, Flashlight, Water, Food, Thermal Blanket, Ice Scraper, De-Icer, Tire Pressure Gauge, Spare Tire, Jumper Cables, Mini Shovel, Tool Kit, and a small Bag of Salt / Kitty Litter.
